Sorakaya Thapilentlu

Sorakaya (bottle gourd) thapilentlu (also known as dosa or pancake) is a tasty and healthy South Indian dish. It’s made by mixing grated bottle gourd with rice flour, spices, and herbs to create a flavorful batter.



How To Make Sorakaya Thapilentlu (Stepwise photos)

Ingredients:

1 cup rice flour
1 cup grated bottle gourd (sorakaya)
1 tsp Bengal gram (Soaked)
1 small onion (finely chopped)
2 green chilies (finely chopped)
1 tsp cumin seeds
1-inch grated ginger
Few curry leaves (chopped)
2 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)
Salt (to taste)
Water (as needed)
Oil (for cooking)

Preparation:

1. In a mixing bowl, add grated bottle gourd.


2. Now add rice flour to the grated bottle guard.


3. Add the soaked Bengal gram, onions, green chilies, cumin seeds, grated ginger, curry leaves, and coriander leaves.


4.  if require add some water and make a dough, then keep it aside.


5. Heat a tawa (griddle) and grease it with oil and on other plate make small balls of the dough on the wet cloth and make thapilentlu place a hole in center of them.


6. Now add thapilentlu to tawa, drizzle some oil around the edges and cook on medium flame.


7. Once the bottom turns golden brown, flip and cook the other side.


8. The crispy dish is ready to serve and best eaten with butter or curd.
