Bagara rice is a simple Hyderabadi rice recipe which can be prepared for functions or any festive occasions. It is famous in Andhra predominantly from Telangana region. It is a simple pulao-style meal that uses a lot of pudina (mint) and coriander leaves but no additional vegetables. The meal is typically served with a choice of meat-based curries, such as chicken curry or mutton kurma, although it can also be served with veggie kurma or stew.
How To Make Bagara Rice
Ingredients---------
Basmati rice - 1 cup.
Oil or Ghee - 2 teaspoons.
Bay leaf - 1-2 numbers.
Cloves - 2-4 numbers.
Cardamom - 2-4 numbers.
Cinnamon stick - 1-2 numbers.
Black cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoons.
Mace - 1 numbers.
Onion (roughly chopped) - 1 cup.
Salt - to taste.
Green chillies - 2-3 numbers.
Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoons.
Mint leaves - 1 bunch.
Coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch.
Water - 1+1/2 cup.
preparation--------
1.Soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes in water.
2.Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon stick, black cumin seeds, bay leaf, mace and saute it.
3.Add onions, a little salt, green chilies and saute it.
4.Add ginger garlic paste and saute it, cook for one minute until raw flavor is gone.
5.Now add mint leaves, coriander leaves and mix it.
6.Add soaked rice and slightly mix cook for 1 min.
7.Add water, check for seasoning add salt and cook it initially on high flame later on a slow flame until it is done.
8.Once the moisture is reduced place lid and cook it until it is done and switch off the flame and allow it to rest for 5 minutes.
9.At last, the bagara rice recipe is prepared and ready to be eaten with either biryani gravy or chicken curry.
Pro tips-----
1.First of all, the spicy curry pairs well with the rice.
2.Additionally, for more flavor, add more pudina and coriander.
3.Furthermore, rice gains flavor from the addition of spices. Therefore, be careful not to compromise on it.
4.Finally, after 30 minutes, the bagara rice recipe is delicious.
